Linkin Park: LOST IN THE ECHO (24Xero Remix)

This is my version of "LOST IN THE ECHO" which I think is one of the best songs from LIVING THINGS. I'm happy that Linkin Park decided to do another remix contest, because it was fun to remix "The Catalyst" last time.

When I found out that it was "LOST IN THE ECHO" that we were going to remix, I immediately started to think in what ways I could change the song. I struggled a bit with the beginning of my remix. After a few variations, I decided to make an intro that started before the actual song began. I wanted my remix to have a lot of heavy beats and electronic sounds. I continued in this direction the entire track. I incorporated some of the original stems in the remix as well.

I put a lot of hours into this remix, and the result became something that I'm very proud of. Listen to my remix of "LOST IN THE ECHO" that you can find below. And if you like what you hear, I'd be happy if you voted for my remix.

Linkin Park's 4th single is "Iridescent"

Linkin Park has officially announced their next single from A Thousand Suns after many speculations and rumors. The fourth single will be "Iridescent" and it's one of my favorite songs from A Thousand Suns.

Another rumor started when a splash page, at linkinpark.com, showed a moon and when you clicked it "Iridescent" started to play, and a picture came up showing something that looked like a Transformers logo. Given that Linkin Park has had songs on the last two Transformers movies, this suggests that they would be on the upcoming movie as well.

And the day after the official news came that "Iridescent" will be a single for upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie. Mike posted on his blog that they're shooting a music video directed by Joe Hahn. However, they will use a shortened version of the song that will fit the movie better. I've listened to the remix but I like the original version better.

Read what Mike had to say about this below.

"A few months ago, I got on the phone with Michael Bay, who wanted to discuss the possibility of our band continuing our run with songs paired with the Transformers films. We (he, his team, and our band) all have enjoyed working together on the past two, and he wanted to discuss the ideas we might have for Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon. In particular, one song came up immediately. Ever since we started playing Iridescent live, the song has been a fan favorite at the show.

For the film, there’s a new, slightly shorter version of the song, which is floating around the internet now. We’ll be shooting a video for the song tomorrow, directed by Joe Hahn."

Linkin Park - The Catalyst (24Xero Remix)

This is my version of "The Catalyst", and I think I did a great job on this remix. I really wanted to finish my remix before July 25th, and I did, even though I couldn't enter the "Featuring You" contest because I live in Sweden. And I hadn't finished my remix, so I could enter the fan edition contest. I don't want to release something that I'm not satisfied with or done in a hurry.

I made this remix in Magix Music Maker 16 Premium. I wanted to have the static electronic sound that you can hear in the intros of the new Linkin Park videos. I use some of the stems LP released, and I took some from my sound pool collection and made different changes to them with effects and stuff. When I was done with the instrumental, I then used Sony Vegas Pro 9 to sync the vocals with my remix. I know that Vegas is used for video editing. However, It's very great for sound too and Vegas has the same structure as Acid which is more of a sound based software. I have Acid Pro 7 also, but I haven't used that program that much and Vegas does basically the same thing.

When I had finished syncing the vocal stems to my remix, I wanted to create a video for it. I took some clips from the latest Linkin Park videos and used the static interruption parts. I looped the video clips and blended the new photos of the band into the video.

I think the result turned out really cool both the remix and video. Watch it below!

30 Seconds To Mars - Hurricane (Instrumental 24Xero Remix)

I've uploaded a new video to YouTube. I've done an instrumental remix of 30 Seconds To Mars' "Hurricane". I think it's one of the best songs from their new album This Is War. I made the song in Magix Music Maker 16 Premium. That program has a lot of great tools and awesome beats that you can play around with. The different synthesizers have an awesome sound.

I changed some instruments and put new drums on also. I wanted heavy metallic sounding beats, and I think that the beat I finally chose fitted great into the song. When it came to the instruments, I wanted to keep the electronic sound. I changed the different instruments with new synthesizers and strings. I wanted the piano to be very present in the song so it would be heard. A reverb effect was put on the piano to make it even more haunting.

I wanted to include a heavy guitar with lots of distortions. However, I chose not to make it sound too much. I did the same thing with the bass. I thought the song was repetitive without the vocals, so I tried to make it sound less repetitive by adding some pauses in the beat. I'm very pleased with the result of the entire instrumental song!

I did the video in Sony Vegas Pro 8. I put some effects on and used the "24Xero Hurricane" cover I made in Adobe Photoshop CS5. I often use the TV effect on my videos. I think it looks cool when it scans the picture. I also use the pan and zoom feature on both the picture and the background. It gets an almost 3D effect.

Watch and listen to the video below!
