24Xero's Blog 10 Year Anniversary!

Today is the 10 Year Anniversary of 24Xero.com, my blog. I posted quite a bit the first years. But then I began to have more drafts than posts. My last post was on February 21, 2013. I can't believe that over 6 years have went! My only excuse is the lack of motivation. I mainly post on Twitter and Instagram. So search for me there (@24Xero).

Hopefully I will get back and this site will probably change. I have a few ideas for new logos. The overall layout will stay the same most likely. If I find a new cool theme, then I might change to that. Change is good, even though it's hard sometimes.

That's all for now. And happy 10 Year Anniversary to my blog! 😍

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Premieres April 12, 2011

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Machinima.com today announced they have signed an agreement to premiere and distribute the highly anticipated “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” live action digital series produced by Warner Premiere. Directed by Kevin Tancharoen (“Fame”), and starring Jeri Ryan (“Star Trek: Voyager”) as “Sonya Blade,” Michael Jai White (“The Dark Knight”) as “Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs” and Darren Shahlavi (“300”) as “Kano,” this series will take gamers deep into the history of the warriors they know and love.

The first action-packed episode of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” will debut April 12 exclusively on Machinima, the dominant entertainment network for videogamers on YouTube (www.youtube.com/machinima). Fans from around the world will be able to watch and engage with the entire “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” series through Machinima’s YouTube channel.

"With over 500 million monthly video views and 50 million monthly viewers, Machinima has the world’s most highly-engaged gaming audience, which makes this agreement with Warner Bros. such a great fit," said Allen DeBevoise, Chairman and CEO of Machinima, Inc. "Mortal Kombat is an epic franchise with a rich story and characters, we’re truly excited to bring 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy' to our community. With our global scale and reach, we can now drive greater engagement and viewership than anyone for entertainment properties that fit our young, male-centric demo. Kevin’s new incarnation of the Mortal Kombat franchise is precisely the type of world-class, high-octane action content that our audience will love.”

Kevin Tancharoen who directed and produced the popular, unofficial “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” fan short, is bringing the same immersive directing style to this live-action digital series. “Machinima is the perfect entertainment destination to premiere the series,” said Kevin Tancharoen, Director, Producer and co-writer of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy.” “They have a massive audience of gamers from around the world. We worked very closely with NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon, and we’re now putting the finishing touches on the episodes. I’m confident we’ve stayed true to the Mortal Kombat lore and am hoping the fans will be blown away by what they see.”

Also on April 12, in a lead up to the series premiere, Machinima will host Kevin Tancharoen and cast from the series in a special live event. Details will be announced on Machinima.com soon.

Written by Kevin Tancharoen , Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” is an anthology of nine live action shorts, and brings to life the motivation behind each character’s participation in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the game’s universe.

The latest iteration of the award-winning videogame, “Mortal Kombat," marks a triumphant return to the series’ mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic. Driven by an all new graphics engine, the fan favorite Fatality is back and presented in more gory detail than ever before. In addition, “Mortal Kombat” introduces a number of new game-play features including tag team and a deep story mode. “Mortal Kombat” is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, led by “Mortal Kombat” creator and creative director Ed Boon.

Happy New Year 2011!

I'm saying the same things as last year, I can't believe it's New Year's Eve again! It feels sometimes as if I just wrote a blog post for 2009.

2010 has been a traumatic year for me. I lost my dad in August, and I've been very sad and depressed ever since. Everyone says that "life goes on" and it does. However, I feel it's very hard to let go of my father. May he rest in peace.

The year had some good moments also. I've played a lot of video games and watched many movies and TV-shows. I've done everything I love and that's what I want with my life, to feel happy.

Maybe I haven't done exactly like I should. I've planned to do so many things, and I just pushed it to the next day! That's one thing I will try to change in 2011.

This New Year's Eve I have for the first time celebrated without my parents, better late than never. It was a lot of fun! I didn't drink so much because I don't like to drink alcohol. I also had to be sober because I was going to fire off some Fireworks like I do every year. They were very nice!

And now I'm looking forward to 2011 with new video games, movies, TV-show and other fun stuff I like to do.

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas 2010!

Merry Christmas everyone! This year my family and I are going to celebrate Christmas with my grandparents. We always change each year.

I'm excited to see what I will get this year, my brother and I always get many Christmas presents. I've wished for PlayStation Move, and I really hope I will get it. Otherwise I will buy it myself. I always get money because I don't now what to wish for.

This year I've bought all my gifts online. It's good because I don't have to stand in line with all the other stressed Christmas shoppers. I even got them wrap for a small fee.

The weather this year is perfect with a lot of snow, just as I've always wanted! However, it doesn't happen that often that it comes snow for Christmas.

I hope everyone will have a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Wishes

Happy Halloween! [Update!]

Happy Halloween everyone! I like this holiday very much even though we don't celebrate on October 31 here in Sweden. Our holiday, All Saints Day, is next week. However, I like to celebrate Halloween myself by watching horror movies and play scary video games. And I'm going to do the same thing next week. It's two weeks of "horror" for me.

What I like about Halloween and autumn is the warm, cozy, happy and mystical feelings I get during this period. It's a special atmosphere just like during Christmas. And all these feelings get stronger when I watch a really scary movie.

Today, I'm going to watch the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street on Blu-ray. Another movie I'm going to see is Monsters, it seems like a good scary movie. I'm going to play Left 4 Dead 2 because it's a great game that's very scary and gives me adrenaline. I don't have many scary video games to PlayStation 3. I think Resident Evil 5 is the only one, and I'm tired of that game. I have just bought BioShock 2 to PS3, and it's a little scary but maybe the most important thing is that it has a great atmosphere.

I haven't posted in a while because I haven't felt like writing. However, I have posted on Twitter everyday. It's fast and easy. I have three Linkin Park reviews that I want to publish, but I haven't had the "strength" to do it. I hope they will come up soon. They're going to be published under the September and October period. I will "cheat" a little.

I hope that everyone has a great Halloween, because I certainly have.

Haters & Believers: A Thousand Suns Release

"Hey guys. I’ve been getting some questions about my thoughts about the album release, so I thought that I’d try to answer them here.

To start, a quick review: about a year and a half ago, we made a conscious decision to take our music in a new direction. We predicted the album’s release would be incendiary; the new direction would be welcomed by some, and fervently resisted by others. Looking back, I wanted to address both factions.

Let’s get the simple part out of the way. To the fans who like the new album: thanks for your support. There are some of you that have been with us for a long time, and are thrilled about the new sound. There are others who weren’t sure of the new album at first, but have given it a chance, and are now reaping its rewards. And there are others who have never been fans of Linkin Park, but are interested in the band for the first time with A Thousand Suns. We’re happy to have all of you on board, and we appreciate your support.

A friend of mine told me a story from his childhood: when he was a little kid, his dad, who never had any facial hair, left for a trip and came home with a beard. His son took one look at him and ran away, demanding, “what happened to my real dad?”
So let’s talk about “haters.”

Not surprisingly, the sound of the new album (and the absence of heavy guitars and Chester’s screaming vocals) seemed to upset some folks. As I write this, the most popular iTunes (US) review of A Thousand Suns is by Janxrod, who gives the album one star and asks “What happened to the real Linkin Park?”

A knee-jerk reaction might be to assume that people who dislike ATS simply love heavy metal and hate alternative / electronic music. I don’t need to tell you that the internet is a sad breeding ground for filthy-mouthed negativity. But, in their defense, many of the “one-star reviewers” are not brainless cynics who talk shit because they’re bored. They’re real fans who were expecting to walk into a movie theatre to see “A Clockwork Orange,” and they got “2001: A Space Odyssey.” I don’t like the idea that all these folks are all lumped together as “haters.”

I’m a curious guy, so I did some research about Janxrod. Although 8/10 of his favorite albums include heavier stuff like Disturbed, Shinedown, and Dethklok…he also likes Daft Punk. He’s not opposed to electronic music. So what bothers Janxrod so much about A Thousand Suns?

One reason is that, according to his page, “They write songs about how pissed off they are at their old fans, telling them to go f*** themselves. That’s not mature, that’s just disrespectful.”

Know what? I agree. That’s a bad message. The problem is: it’s not really our message.

The other guys and I have said many things in the past, not all of it thoughtful or respectful (sorry, we’re human too). But under it all, here’s where we’re really at: If you don’t like this album right now, that’s your choice and it’s truly OK with us. But we stand behind the work we put into it, and we think it’ll be a rewarding listen if you decide to give it a chance. Our door is open.

Lastly, I need to address a comment I occasionally see (and have seen every time we put an album out)–that the band has “sold out.” As far as I know, “selling out” means compromising the integrity of your band/music in exchange for money or popularity. Since inception, A Thousand Suns was designed to go against the grain, built with an understanding that it would likely polarize and challenge the fan base at first. This is the opposite of a “sell out” album; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Do the math: if money and popularity was the goal, we would have made Hybrid Theory again.

Furthermore, outside our studio walls, the climate for music is different. According to Nielsen SoundScan, of the 97,751 albums released in 2009, only 12 of them sold more than one million units last year. People everywhere buy it by the song, not by the album. To stand behind what many people call a “concept album”–asking the fan to listen to the whole thing rather than a couple songs–is unquestionably a big a request. Some people want to color that request as a “marketing tactic,” that we are asking people to buy the whole thing instead of a couple songs. If that was the case, we’d be the worst marketers ever. Clearly, a collection of 12 “hit singles” is a better reason to buy a whole album than a concept record. The singles sell an album. A concept album requires a leap of faith. The whole argument is wholly illogical.

So why did we make such a big change? “What happened to the real Linkin Park?” We’re still here. We look and sound different, but the intention behind the music is the same as it has been since day one: in the studio, we are constantly in search of new sounds that excite and inspire us. And hearing that our album debuted at #1 in 15 countries gave us all a massive feeling of gratitude, but if being in this band has taught me anything in the past decade, it’s that you can’t base your happiness on things that are out of your control.

The truth is, we’re believers that good, honest art will triumph at the end of the day. Real success isn’t about sales, numbers, and chart position. It’s about a connection with a dedicated fan base and a chance to introduce people to a sound that we can call our own.

See you on tour, where we’ll be playing songs from “Hybrid Theory” through “A Thousand Suns.” Fans of every era are welcome."

Duke Nukem Forever coming 2011 on PlayStation 3

I can't believe it's finally happening! Duke Nukem Forever is being released in 2011! And the best part is that it's coming to PlayStation 3, it has always been a PC game, so I'm very happy! When the game was "canceled" last year I was very sad, and when the rumors started that it might still be released, but by another developer, I thought that this is the only chance for it to be released on PS3.

I will buy Duke Nukem Forever on the release day, even if it will get bad reviews (I don't think it will), and play the single and multiplayer campaign and feel nostalgia. I think the multiplayer will be bad ass! This is awesome news! I'm really looking forward to this game. I have since 1997.

Below is an atricle from Joystiq.

Duke Nukem Forever coming '2011' on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & PC, courtesy of Gearbox

It's finally, really, actually ... maybe going to happen at this point. The rumors are true: Gearbox Software and 2K Games have taken on the Herculean task of completing and releasing 3D Realms' unfinished Duke Nukem Forever. The project was officially unveiled today at PAX during a livestreamed  presentation at the 2K Games booth and announced for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. "It's coming out in 2011," Gearbox president Randy Pitchford said during the presentation. (Of course, we're skeptical about any release date associated with this particular title.)

Gearbox began finishing Duke Nukem Forever in late 2009, according to The Wall Street Journal. "Clearly the game hadn't been finished at 3D Realms but a lot of content had been created," Pitchford told WSJ.

"We're in the polishing phase now. This is a game where we can not make a promise we can not fulfill," Pitchford added. "We need to get past the shock and awe, and then we can go to all the retailers and first parties and work out a launch plan."

Duke Nukem Forever is a sequel to Duke Nukem 3D and will feature both a single-player campaign and multiplayer. "Aliens come and say they're going to be our friends, and Duke knows this isn't going to work out," Pitchford revealed of the plot. "Duke once again is in the pivotal spot and it's up to him to save the world."

24Xero's Blog 1 year anniversary

My blog turns one years old today, August 17, 2010! I can't believe it's been a year, since I started this blog. I think it has been a fun experience, even though I don't have many followers, I hope that some people have read my blog posts. However, I do this mostly for myself, it's like a journal or a diary, it's the same thing with Twitter. I also think that this helps me get better in English and to write as well. This blog is also a part of my interests, I like playing video games and when I've finished them, I'll write a review. I post news of what's happening with Linkin Park or whatever I feel like writing about.

Sometimes it's difficult to know what to write about, or I just don't feel like posting anything. When I don't post on my blog, I feel that it's easier to post things on Twitter. I do that more often than post stuff on my blog, and I just write what's on my mind at the time. However, sometimes I want to write more than 140 letters, like now. I've tired to write at least one post per month on "24Xero's Blog". I sometime "cheat" with the posts, I change the post date, but I don't remember which posts I've changed when I think back. For example, this post is written July 2nd, 2010.

Hopefully, I will stop pushing everything into the future, I've planned to upload my "What I've Done" remix to YouTube again, I've hopefully done it by now! A lot of covers and some remixes are on my computer as unfinished projects, all those things are one of many interests that I love to do and devote myself to. I have to get a grip of myself!

I've also tried to make money on the Internet, I've bought a course I believe in. I have to see where it leads, hopefully it will work. Filling out paid survey is one of the things I've tired, but the money you get from that is very little. Other things that have crossed my mind are gambling on roulette or even Poker, I have to learn to play first. However, you can lose more than you make most of the times, and you can get a gambling problem, I have enough problems as it is.

A year has passed since I started blogging, and I will keep writing and post here on my blog for another year, see you next year when I celebrate the 2 year anniversary of 24Xero's Blog.

RAGE out September 15, 2011

id Software took the stage with RAGE at QuakeCon this afternoon in Texas, and we had planned to liveblog the presentation for you, but id requested the presentation not be live streamed.
The game’s out on September 13 and 15, 2011 in the US and Europe, respectively, per creative director Tim Willits.
I pulled some highlights from Kotaku’s liveblog. Get all the best stuff below.
  • id had three platforms and screens on stage for RAGE to represent and show the game on each of the three platforms – PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
  • The game looks very Mad Max before Mel Gibson went insane.
  • The town of Wellspring was shown for the first time.
  • John Goodman is a voice actor in the game – he who did Roseanne, etc.
  • Matt Hooper, one of the game’s designers, showed some vehicles.
  • Four-wheelers and buggies were shown, as well as vehicle combat some with rocket launchers.
  • There will be mini-games. One is called Tombstones, which showed characters holograms on a board and whichever character gets to teh middle first is the winner. The characters have guns.
  • There are racing competitions where you can earn money to spruce up or improve your vehicle.
  • There are no large cutscenes in the game, as id feels it should come from within the game itself via the action, locations, scenery, and dialogue.
  • You can electrocute enemies; a water level was shown where this combat took place.
  • The game has three tactical options: you can use turrets, RC bomb cars, or go in like Rambo by peppering bullets everywhere if you prefer. Screens will turn red when you are wounded.
  • An area with a dam was shown, where you need to go get vehicle parts and your first buggy. It is inhabited by the Wasted Clan who are not too friendly, apparently, as one fella is in a vehicle firing a machine gun at you.
  • You can also fight in melee style – fist-a-cuffs if you will.
  • Creative director Tim Willits showed his favorite area, the Dead City, which is a modern day ruined metropolis. In it, enemies have rocket launchers and some are as big in size as anything Team Ico could dream up.
  • Some loading issues were noted on the consoles, and the Xbox 360 version even crashed – but all those issues will be fixed before release.

“A Thousand Suns” Track Listing

Mike has posted the track listing for A Thousand Suns. I think it has some very cool and unique song titles. The album starts with two "The" and ends with two "The" track names. The names whom I find most interesting are: "Jornada Del Muerto" which is a place in New Mexico, and the name is Spanish for "single day's journey of the dead man" hence "route of the dead man". I also find the name "Robot Boy" very interesting, I wonder how that song will sound?

Check out the track listing for A Thousand Suns below.

Linkin Park: A Thousand Suns

1. The Requiem
2. The Radiance
3. Burning In The Skies
4. Empty Spaces
5. When They Come For Me
6. Robot Boy
7. Jornada Del Muerto
8. Waiting For The End
9. Blackout
10. Wretches And Kings
11. Wisdom, Justice, And Love
12. Iridescent

Twitter Pixel Art at Linkin Park.com

Linkin Park.com got a new intro page a few days ago. A message came up and asked if I wanted to connect my Twitter account. After I had done that a text came up that said: "Conversation sets me free". So I wrote that I was looking forward to the new album and send the tweet, and a brief sound plays that could be "The Catalyst" along with the message: "Thank you for helping me. I will arrive soon", with each individual tweet revealing a single pixel of a collective image.

I think the idea that each message sent to twitter became a pixel was a great idea! I was very excited and I was wondering what would happen when all the pixels were in place. My first thought was that the picture would reveal the album art, and that we would hear a preview of "The Catalyst". And today, about two days later, the picture was revealed, and it shows the album art of A Thousand Suns.

I later saw that I had got a direct message from Mike at twitter. In the message, he thanked me for the help and told me to check back to see what happens along with two links. The first link led me to a video where a short clip of "The Catalyst" was played! The second link was just a low res picture of the new LP logo. I liked the short clip of "The Catalyst", it was Mike singing along with Chester in the background, it was different from what I've heard from the stems.

Stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks. "The Catalyst" is almost here!

New Linkin Park album, “A Thousand Suns”, out 14/9 [Update!]

It's finally official, Linkin Park's new album is called "A Thousand Suns", and it will be released on September 14th, 2010. The new single is called "The Catalyst", it will be released on August 2nd. This is exciting news for us Linkin Park fans! We were given the two names a few weeks ago in the LP puzzles, and many had already guessed that it was the name of the single and the new album. I think the album name is awesome, I really hoped that it would be the final name of the album.

This is not all the news we got. Linkin Park will have a contest where we fans will get the opportunity to remix the new single, "The Catalyst", and one lucky winner will have their remix on the "A Thousand Suns" album. I will of course enter the contest, because I love to remix Linkin Park music, it's one of my biggest interests. The contest will begin on July 9th. I don't know if they will include the vocal stems, or just the music. I'm really excited right now, and I think many other Linkin Park fans are too.

You can read the entire post from Mike, below. And as always stay tuned for more exciting news in the coming weeks!

NEW ALBUM, “A THOUSAND SUNS,” OUT SEPTEMBER 14

No puzzles or hidden messages with this one. We’re excited to finally announce that our new album, A THOUSAND SUNS, will be released on September 14th.

The lead single for the album is called “The Catalyst.” It will be released on August 2nd.

Beginning tomorrow, July 9th, we’re teaming up with MySpace for “Linkin Park, Featuring You,” a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We’ll be giving you some audio from “The Catalyst,” and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album…or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs. No matter what instrument you play, you can win. We’re open to anything good. All we ask is that you include any audible portion of any one of our stems in your submission.

Once you submit, the community (that’s you) will vote, and the most popular stuff will rise to the top. Then, my bandmates and I will comb through the submissions, choose one winner, and they will be included on our album, A THOUSAND SUNS. Check out http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark for contest details.

I think I’ve said enough for now. Thanks for your continued support. We’ve got more announcements coming, so keep checking LinkinPark.com for updates.

A THOUSAND SUNS \\ SEPTEMBER [Update!]

Mike has posted a new message, this is the fifth message. This new one is a "real" puzzle! I took the picture into PhotoShop and cut the image into pieces, and tried to make every piece fit. I finally did it and reveals a new LP logo, but only half of it. I could from the beginning figure out that the image was supposed to be the Linkin Park logo, and I also saw that it was hiding a new watermark message. Then I enhanced the saturation, just like I did with the "The Catalyst" message, and it reveals a message saying: "A Thousand Suns \\ September".

Message #05 (A Thousand Suns \\ September)

Could this be the release date for the new Linkin Park album? And is "A Thousand Suns" the album title? Nothing has been confirmed yet. However, this really makes the hype for the new album even higher.

Stay tuned for more Linkin Park news in the coming weeks!

THE CATALYST /// AUGUST 2 [Update!]

In the last couple of weeks Mike has been giving the fans' messages/puzzles to solve involving the new Linkin Park album. Things are finally happening in the Linkin Park world! We have been given four messages from Mike so far and some of them were a bit tricky to solve. I think the idea with these clues is brilliant, it really makes everything more exciting, and I'm looking forward to the new Linkin Park album even more. That and the new LPTV episodes, news of any kind, a date for the release of the new album, show dates, single and music video dates and more, this is what I think is fun when you're a fan of a band.

I remember how excited I was when Linkin Park was about to release Meteora. Every week when I came home from school, I'd watch a new episode of LPTV. And I remember how exciting it was when I first heard a teaser of the intro for their new single, "Somewhere I Belong", and when I finally heard the entire song on the intro page of linkinpark.com, I had goosebumps after listening to it. I felt the same thing when they released Minutes to Midnight. It was fun watching all the new LPTV episodes and when I heard a bit of the intro for "What I've Done", I remember that I thought that the piano playing was really haunting, and that it sounded very different from what I've heard from Linkin Park before.

I've been a fan of Linkin Park since 2000, I was only twelve years old when I became a fan. I was about to be a teenager, and I was changing and so was my music taste. I still listened to all the music that I thought was good, it didn't matter what genre it was. However, it was different with Linkin Park, I became a fan, and I got inspired by them, they are my role models. They are the reason I got interested in music, I started to sing and write my own songs, and I also wanted to create music, I downloaded music programs like eJay and other loop based programs. I've grown up with Linkin Park, and I'm so grateful that they make music, so I can have something to look forward to, and get inspired by and feel a lot of happy positive feelings. You can read the story how I discovered Linkin Park's music here, it's a shortened version of all the memories I have from that time. I can write an entire page of wonderful memories from when I was twelve years old, when I started to listen to Linkin Park, that I keep in my brain and no one can take those away.

Countdown to E3 2010!

E3 2010 is only a week away, and I'm very excited! A few new E3 game trailers have already been released in advance, it doesn't matter because it only makes me look forward to next week even more. In this countdown to E3 blog post, I'm going to list the video games I think and hope we're going to see at this years' event. All these video game expos are like Christmas for us that have video games as an interest and a passion. And there are a few more shows left that I'm looking forward to and Tokyo Game Show is one of them. I hope that this year's E3 will be one of the best!

Below are some of the video games I'd like to see at E3 2010.

Batman: Arkham Asylum 2

I hope that they will show the first gameplay footage of the game. I also think that if they show the new Batman game, they will announce the final name and release date. They have already released a teaser that gave us an idea what the game is about, but I want to see more. I loved the first game, and I'm definitely going to buy this one.

Brink

I have already seen some gameplay videos, and they look very good. However, I would like to see more, especially the "SMART" function. I like Brink because it reminds me of Mirror's Edge, and I think that game is awesome.

Mirror's Edge 2

DICE has said that they are working on a sequel, but they haven't officially said that they do. I hope that we would see at least a teaser of the game, or an announcement.

Mortal Kombat 9

I've always like the Mortal Kombat games, I used to play them when I was a child, I wasn't one of those kids that were effected by video game violence. Me and my brother played on or Sega Mega Drive. What I like about the game is the violence, and that it's so dark that it gives me goosebumps. I hope that they will some gameplay footage of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

I've already seen a montage trailer with quick images of the game. I hope that they will show video footage from one of the levels. I see Black Ops as a new Call of Duty 4, because it renews itself, it's not during World War II, it's during the Cold War. I didn't buy World at War, but I'm definitely going to buy this one.

Bulletstorm

I've seen a few gameplay videos of this game and want to see more. Bulletstorm is like a new Unreal Tournament, it's equally violent. I hope they will show when they play through a level of the game and to see how it works.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I haven't played the previous games, and it doesn't matter because this is a prequel. I hope they will show more gameplay footage and hopefully give a release date. Deus Ex: Human Revolution looks very promising.

I Am Alive

It's been some time, since I heard anything about this game, the last thing I heard was that it had been delayed. I hope Ubisoft will show it, so that we know it's alive.

Killzone 3

I want news and gameplay footage of this game, and I definitely think Sony is going to show Killzone 3 at their press conference on Theusday. This game is one of the PlayStation 3 best video games.

The Last Guardian

Sony announced this game at last years E3, and I think and hope they will show more of it. Gameplay footage is always welcome. And maybe they will announce the Team ICO HD collection!?

The Agency

This game has been taking forever, it's been delayed several times, and I really hope they will at least have a release date this time.

Agent

This PlayStation 3 exclusive video game from Rockstar Games was announced at last years E3, but we only got a logo. I hope we will get more information and hopefully images or a teaser from the game.

Final Fantasy XIV Online

This game was also announced last year, and I definitely think Sony will show more of this game, I like the Final Fantasy series.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

The thing that surprised me more than the game itself was that it will be released as a multiplatform game! We only got a little information about the game and a logo and a picture of Raiden. I hope they will show gameplay footage and gives us more information when it will be released.

PlayStation Move

Sony is going to show more cool games that will support the "Move". They will also have a release date.

New video games from Sony

I think that Sony will announce some new video games that will both be exclusive and multiplatform, and maybe some new franchises. I also think Sony will announce some new sequels, maybe Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3.

Valve's surprise!

I'm really excited to know what the big surprise Valve is going to announce. There have been a rumor that they will release Duke Nuke Forever or another Duke Nukem related game. The sad thing is that Valve can't make video games to PlayStation 3, but they have said that hopefully sometime in the future.

That's the video games and announcements I think and hope are going to happen next week at E3 2010.

I'm back! [Update!]

I haven't posted anything new on my blog, except the review of "Blackbirds". However, I'm coming back now, and I will start posting things on my blog, especially now when E3 is just a few weeks away.

The reason why I've been gone is that my computer, Sony VAIO, crashed. It's not my VAIO's fault, it's an operating system called "Windows Vista"! Every single file I had on my computer disappeared in front of my eyes, it felt like my heart stopped. I really panicked when I realized that I hadn't done any backup on my files, I had planned it for many weeks before, but I didn't think my computer would crash. The only thing I did was installing the drivers that came on a CD when I bought a "Bluetooth Dongle". I was trying to get my "DualShock 3" controller to work on my Sony VAIO.

I took out the hard drive from my computer and plugged it into my brother's computer. I installed a software called "GetDataBack for NTFS". It took six hours for the program to recover my data. When it was done and I had seen that it recovered almost every single file, I felt a huge relief. I copied all my files to an external hard drive, WD 1 TB.

When the recovery was done, I had to put the hard drive back and then install Windows. However, I didn't want to have "Vista" anymore, since it was "Windows Vista" who crashed my computer. So I upgraded to "Windows 7", and I must say that it's a lot better than "Vista" without a doubt, it's very fast and I also like the new look and features.

I'm now finally back and running again. I've installed every single software that I had before, and I've even upgraded a few of them. And I have made backups of all my most important files to another external hard drive, I've without a doubt learned from my mistake. I've even made a list of every file I've made backups for and transferred. I will do this every time I've done something that I want to keep, like a music project or a picture in PhotoShop, and of course write down which files I've backed up.

I will try to write a new post every week, so at least four posts per month. I'm planing to do more covers and remixes, my latest instrumental remix has gotten a great response, and that's what I like about posting things on the Internet, you can show people what you've created and get feedback from them, it really boosts my confidence.

24Xero's iPod Touch apps Guide #01

In less than two years, 200 000 applications have been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I'm going to give you tips on the best right now. It's a bit hard to take in sometimes, how fast it actually has gone. Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone in January 2007 and people queued in New York on June 30th of that year to buy their first iPhone the day it was released. At the Moscone Center in June 2008 Steve Jobs talked about his plans for a software store for iPhone applications, which would start in July of that year, called "Appstore".

The Appstore opened July 11th, 2008 with 500 apps to choose from. A year later it was 55 000 and in November last year it
past 100 000. Two weeks ago, they broke through the 200 000 barrier. Overall, more than four billion downloads of apps to the iPhone made in about 22 months.

It can be in many ways impressive that there are so many apps to choose from, it's difficult to find the right one in a
jungle of similar applications. Many of the apps are free. Overall, this is more than 40 percent of the programs.

Those apps that costs usually lays in the price range of 1-10 dollars. There are many cool applications. One of the best looking right now is the American CNN's new iPhone app, which present the news in both text, picture and video. Below you will find the list of my favorite applications at this point. It is divided in applications for news, navigation, weather, games, photos and video, fun, useful, music, social networking, travel, sports, radio and television.

Listed below are the 65 best applications right now.

News Apps:

Aftonbladets Supernytt

The latest news around the clock from Aftonbladet.

BBC World News Live

News from around the world from the british BBC. You can also watch streaming video in the iPhone.

AP Mobile

The world's largest news agency has made a neat and efficient iPhone app that is updated around the clock.

Idg.se

It's the biggest IT news site in Sweden. Idg.se is a great site for those who want to stay informed about the latest developments in the IT world.

NY Times

Is one of America's largest newspapers with a circulation of around one million copies. It has a good iPhone app with news from the USA and the rest of the world.

Navigation Apps:

Beacon

Perfect for large parking spaces. Activate Beacon and the cellphone will find its way back to the car when it's time to go home.

Navigon

GPS in cellphones has a new meaning when both Navigon and TomTom have released special applications for the iPhone. It makes your cellphone into a navigator.

Tomtom

TomTom has seen them self overtaken by Navigon when it comes to navigation for the iPhone. However, the distance has shrunk.

Google Earth

See satellite images from virtually anywhere on earth. This makes the maps you have in school redundant.

Path Tracker

It's using the GPS in the cellphone and keeps track of exactly how long the forest walk was and where you went. It also helps you to find your way back home.

Weather Apps:

Klart.se

A new Swedish service that uses a Finnish Institute of weather forecasts. Perhaps the best service for the iPhone in Sweden.

Yr.no

The Norwegian counterpart to SMHI has been giving themselves into the mobile industry unlike SMHI. Yr.no is good but does not cover as many places as Klart.se.

AccuWeather

Weather Service which covers the whole world, including Sweden. Long-term forecasts, precipitation, and wind warnings, and more.

VĂ€derradar.se

See the same information that the planes' pilots get direct to the iPhone. It shows prognosis two hours ahead and GPS showing where you are.

Aero Weather

Displays weather conditions at airports around the world.

Game Apps:

Catcha Mouse

Prevent the rat from diving into the rat hole. Easy in the beginning but the difficulty is increasing rapidly.

Cro-Mag Rally

A bit more expensive game where cavemen races with bows and cars with stone wheels a la Fred Flintstone.

Waterslide Extreme

A water slider that's using the sensitivity in the iPhone to control how you slide so you won't fall of the water slide.

Labyrinth Lite

This is a variation of BRIO's classic labyrinth game that most of us played in kindergarten. It's difficult at first by you will get the hang of it.

Chopper

The helicopter is out and rescue people in distress, although it faces obstacles in all shapes.

Photo and video Apps:

Photoshop

The world's leading software for image processing in a simplified version for the iPhone.

Bambuser

A free Swedish video service where you can upload your videos, for instance, to Facebook direct from your mobile.

Camera Bag

It adds cool filters on the images taken with the phone's camera. Everything from Fisheye to SEPIA.

Camera Zoom

For some reason, the iPhone camera lacks the ability to zoom. Almost no cell phone has an optical zoom but the iPhone does not even have digital zoom. You will, however, have it with this app.

Lego Photo

Fun effects. Take a picture of a friend and make the image to a large plate of Lego pieces.

Fun Apps:

Barbeque

Have a barbeque on the cellphone. You can do everything from fire up the grille to serve the barbeque as MMS, email or to Facebook.

Skygazer

Is that Mars or Venus? Calm down. You can see the stars in the sky with Skygazer based on where you are with the help of the iPhone's GPS.

Do you want to sound like a or as a ghost. With this app you can modify your voice and record it.

Makes your iPhone into a decibel meter.

Flashlight for free

It's possible to use your iPhone as a flashlight, even without this free app. But with this the light becomes even stronger.

Useful Apps:

Search for anything you want. It goes faster than searching through the browser and then to go to Google. It remembers previous searches.

Blocket

Buy and sell directly in your hand. The same service as Blocket on Internet but in an iPhone version.

Bredbandskollen

How fast is mobile broadband really. Bredbandskollen measures the speed and compares with the one you actually get paid for.

E-print

A good app that can print from the iPhone as long as there is a wireless network nearby.

Free Translator

Hard English words? How do you say that in English? It turns out quite well with this app even if the vocabulary is a bit limited.

Skype

Free calls to other Skype users via wireless LAN or call cheaper than your mobile phone - especially abroad - with Skype Out.

SF Bio

A bit boring perhaps that there is a near monopoly on the Swedish cinema market. However, with this app, it's still easy to get tickets to the evening and future movies.

VÀgmÀrken

A good app even for those who have been driving for some time. A bunch of road signs including several new ones.

Evernote

With Evernote on your computer and cell phone you can sync all of your notes (including voice and video notes) and read them in your mobile phone or computer. It's Free.

Prisjakt

The best way to check that the extra price in the store you're in is really the best. It keeps track of prices on all sorts of stuff and services.

Music Apps:

Guitar Tuner

An application that's containing a tuner, chord wizard, metronome, and some other things for guitarists.

Gibson Learn and master guitar

The guitar builders at Gibson have made an app that contains useful tools for guitarists and free demo courses on video with new guitar tricks.

Voiceband

Make music and make your own songs with just your own voice as a tool. The app takes care of the rest.
